13 months on, ZEO’s post lying vacant in Qazigund | KNO

Qazigund, Feb 29 (KNO): After the arresting of ZEO and his Assistant Clark by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) last year, the government has failed to post Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) at Qazigund zone of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district from over a 13 months. According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the post is lying headless from past more than a year as no Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) has been posted there taking toll on academics. The aggrieved locals said, “Office remains closed most of the times, due to the negligence of the higher authorities the education sector of the area has badly affected.” The locals said after visiting the ZEO’s office they found only one official posted as Chief Education Officer Anantnag, Abdul Roub Shad, who said, “All the officials are being appointed at secretariat level. We have no authority to appoint anybody.” He also said that the CEO office has forwarded the complaint of deficit staff in said zone to Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) and public administration—(KNO)
